Step 1 — The nightly scan

EVERY STOCK. EVERY NIGHT.

After the market closes each evening, STS collects 26 facts about every U.S. stock — things like its price, how much it traded, and the latest news. These facts feed the 11 checks that give each stock a score the next morning.

After market close (4:00–5:40 PM EST) the service captures 26 data points for all 9,300+ US stocks — the raw inputs that feed the 11 scoring signals. Identity (3): ticker, sector, industry. Today's market state (5): price, day change %, volume, volume surge vs 30-day average, The total dollar value of a company's shares — share price times the number of shares. It tells you how big the company is.. Fundamentals (2): Price-to-earnings ratio — the share price divided by the company's profit per share. A rough gauge of whether a stock looks cheap or expensive. ratio, EPS. Risk (1): How much a stock tends to swing compared with the overall market. Above 1 means it moves more than the market; below 1 means it moves less.. Sentiment (3): NLP score, magnitude, news headlines. Position (1): % within 52-week range. Momentum oscillators (3): Relative Strength Index — a 0-to-100 meter of how fast a stock has risen or fallen recently, used to spot when it may be overbought or oversold., Stochastic Oscillator — a tool that compares a stock's latest price with its recent high-low range to gauge momentum and possible turning points. %K, Stochastic %D. Step 2 — Scoring and shortlisting

Early each morning, every stock gets a score based on how it is moving, how cheap it is, and how it stacks up against others. The best-scoring stocks get a closer look, and the strongest few are handed to the AI assistant to make the final choice.

Starting at 6:00 AM EST, every stock gets scored across price momentum, value, How a stock is performing compared with the rest of the market — strong relative strength means it is outpacing its peers., volatility, and market cap using our scoring formula. The highest-scoring candidates are enriched with 30 days of price and volume history. The top candidates — with fresh overnight news — advance to Cleopatra for final selection.

Step 3 — STS selection

Cleopatra ranks 25 finalists and delivers **up to 5 ranked picks with thesis** — the actionable list. She enforces sector diversity (max 3 per sector), skips stocks that have already surged, and aligns picks with the active strategy. Each pick comes with a confidence level (HIGH / MEDIUM / LOW), a category (MOMENTUM / VALUE / GROWTH / DEFENSIVE / RECOVERY), and a plain-English thesis. Ranks 6–25 stay visible on the dashboard as watchlist context. Done by 6:40 AM.
